Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  So last year, I was very excited for this day.  I bought tons of candy to pass out to trick or treaters, I turned on all of the lights in the house so the kids knew my house was open for business and I dressed up my dog in a cute spider costume and we were ready for the night!  7pm rolled around and I was like a kid on christmas. 8pm rolled around and the first group came and I was so excited!  They seemed a little scared of my spider dog but whatever.  7:30, next group of kids...and that was it.  The whole night, only two groups of kids came to my door.  I was so sad.  When I went to bed, I left a bowl of candy out on the porch hoping someone else would come by and take some but when I woke up in the morning, all of the candy was still there, completely untouched.  Sad, sad halloween :[

I found this recipe on pinterest and decided to give it a try.  Tip: use one recipe for each bundt cake pan.  (I only used one recipe and split it in half and it seems a bit short).  I also bought mini bundt pans to make the small pumpkins so I could have a pumpkin patch!  The big pumpkin top is actually a plastic cup that I frosted green and the small pumpkin tops are Rolos candy.

Anniversary

A year ago today marks a very big day in my life.  At the age of 21, I bought my dream car all by myself!  This was such a huge accomplishment for me because since I was 16 I had 1 to 3 jobs at a time, I graduated college in three years, and honestly, I had been working my booty off for the last 5 years!  I saved and saved and saved and after my Volvinator died (RIP), it was finally time for my dream car, Lexi.  (Yes, I'm obsessed with my car and I don't care!)

Layers

Fall is great.  So many cozy sweaters and layers and colors.  However, I think I am fall fashion challenged.  I've never been good at layering or staying warm enough.  I look at photos and other people and it looks so easy but for some reason, I get in front of my mirror and bam... layer challenged.  Today is attempt one at layering.

Classic

Today is Thursday which means I'm exhausted.  It's almost the weekend but not quite yet.  What a tease!  I saw this photo on pinterest the other day and wanted to recreate it.  It was a "jeans and tshirt" kind of day but I liked how adding a simple blazer could make it not as boring.

Spoiled Dogs

I think it's becoming increasingly obvious through my pictures that my dogs are spoiled.  They have too many toys and as soon as I pick them up they seem to be all over the place in a heart beat.  I can't win.  Oh well, their cuteness wins me over! :]

Bows & Studs

One of my current obsession?  Studded boots.  You can't really see them in these pictures, but I have studed boots on and they are my favorite!  I love matching something edgy like studded boots with something feminine like a bow or diamonds.

Thanks to Skylette from Sequins & Stilettos and Jillian from Just Jillian, I entered their giveaway and won a Hope Bracelet from Stella & Dot and 3 months of Birchbox products!  I am beyond excited about all of this!  My hope bracelet arrived last night and I was so excited to open this package!!  The bracelet is absolutely beautiful and supports such a great cause.  I am a huge supporter of breast cancer awareness since my lovely aunt passed away about a year ago due to this horrible cancer.  I can only hope there is a cure one day so no one has to endure this in the future.  Thank you again Skylette and Jillian! :]

 

Charity & Halloween

This weekend I participated in the annual Walk to Defeat ALS in Orange County to support my dad.  I helped create a team of 32 people and we raised over $6k!  It was such an inspirational day and it was so wonderful to see some old friends all come together!
